If you are interested in applying for Year 12 entry in September 2027 or later, please fill in our Expression of Interest Form, and we will be in touch when there are admissions events happening for your year group.

week commencing Mon 24 November	Entrance Test materials sent out to early applicants (with additional material for those with Free School Meals)
Sat 29 November - pm	Taster Day 5
Sun 7 December	Application Deadline

Sat 24 January	Entrance Test (in school)
Sat 7 February	Mock Interviews for those with Free School Meals (see our How It Works page for why we do this)

Sat 21 March	Boarding information day
Sat 21 March	Late admissions mop-up day (testing and interviews)
Fri 27 March	Acceptance of place deadline and Boarding application deadline

Fri 21 August	Enrolment Day and Boarding Moving in Day
Fri 28 August	Alternative Boarding Moving in Day

September 2026 Entry

To be eligible to join in 2026 you must be:

Resident within Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset or Wiltshire* AND EITHER
Born between 1st September 2009 and 31st August 2010 OR
Born between 1st September 2010 and 31st August 2011 and in your final year of GCSEs.

In exceptional circumstances, applications will be considered from students born between 1st September 2008 and 31st August 2009.

*Applicants from outside the school catchment area will only be considered if their family has a firm plan to move to the area, irrespective of gaining a place at EMS.
