Applicants with SEND should  make this clear on their application form and indicate the support that they feel they need.  We will then make reasonable adjustments to enable such applicants are able to fully participate in the admissions process. This is a school of high prestige, one of only two university-sponsored specialist 6th forms in the country; it will provide an excellent preparation for students intending to study STEM subjects at University.  You will be experienced in working with academic staff; your problem-solving and ability to communicate mathematically will be developed and enhanced through our bespoke programme of study.  The curriculum is designed to prepare you thoroughly for university study as well as the application process.

We admit approximately 60 students each year, so there will be in the region of 120 students in total.

EMS teachers are qualified and experienced and will deliver the majority of the curriculum. In addition, University academic staff and employers will provide workshops and masterclasses on areas of expertise.

At EMS you will be working with like-minded students, sparking ideas and benefitting from challenge.  You will have regular contact with Exeter University: academics will deliver bespoke workshops and you will have an undergraduate student as a mentor.  In addition, you will have access to the full range of support services and activities at Exeter College and will work with local employers, applying your studies to the 21stcentury workplace.

Absolutely!  The combination of subjects you will take are perfect for those wanting to study Physics, Computer Science, Engineering and other Natural Sciences.  The EMS Mathematics curriculum will explore uses of Mathematics and you will gain an understanding of how it is applied to your chosen field.
