Andy Bartin

Parent Governor

Andy graduated from Portsmouth University with 1st Class Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then started his career at Pall Aerospace designing Engine intakes for helicopters and military vehicles. Since then he has worked in various roles mainly around Project/Programme Management and Engineering, in Aerospace, Renewables and Oil & Gas Industries. During this time he has designed and implemented New Product Introduction (NPI) processes using best practice from Industry. He has also completed an MSc in Engineering with Management

Andy’s current role is Head of Engineering for Seamap UK Ltd. Managing a team of 20 engineers across multiple disciplines. Mechanical, Electronics and Software. Developing underwater exploratory equipment for the Seismic Industry.

Until 2016 Andy was the Chair of Governors at a local primary school, working very closely with a New Head teacher. During his time as chair, Andy dealt with many complex and sensitive issues: Staff redundancy, Disciplinary and Federating two schools. Ending up as Chair of the New Federation.

After resigning as Chair of Governors, Andy continued to be involved at school. Running several after school clubs, Science Club and Cross Country.
