Jeremy Child

Parent Governor

Jeremy is a chartered accountant by training and has decades of experience in non-profit organisations (NHS, Exeter Uni, Age Concern) in finance and management.  He was also the managing director of Aid-Call plc.

He is now retired, and lives in Exeter with his family and two children (one of whom finished at EMS in 2022, and the other started in the same year).

Along with his family, he is a lover of maths and puzzles, and the conversations around their dinner table often cover obscure but interesting maths topics.

A former pupil of Exmouth Comprehensive School (as it was then), Jeremy was one of the first from the school to go to Oxford University, getting a masters degree in mathematics.

Jeremy also calls for ceilidhs (barn dances), teaches advanced driving, and runs most of Devon and Cornwall’s major bridge tournaments.
