Outreach & Admissions Co-ordinator

Phil joined our Outreach and Admissions Team in 2022.  Phil has overall responsibility for the smooth running of our admissions process and takes care of our prospective students throughout  the admissions cycle. Phil also plays a key role in our largest Outreach endeavour – project managing the majority of the Axiom Maths Circles programme.

Phil has a Maths teaching background which is often helpful for understanding the needs of our Outreach and Admissions students. He has a degree in Civil Engineering and Management from the University of Birmingham and undertook his PGCE at the University of Exeter.  He taught Maths for 16 years and also helped set up a development charity in his friend’s village in Tanzania.  He has also worked as an actor!

In his spare time Phil enjoys running, writing, drawing and puns (especially when writing and drawing)!
